6 gold medals, 13 total

This is Sweden's best winter Olympics ever. Maybe it will be even better today. 2 pm starts the men's hockey finals and I have to say I think it is pretty amazing that a small country like Sweden has the second best womens team in the world and the best, or second best mens team.

Cheer cheer for Sweden today... :)

One more day at the movie theater. But where is all the pople? Probably at home, watching the Olympics...

Movies- gotta love them!

I have watched alot of movies lately. Kind of natural I guess, considering I work at a movie theater. But it comes and goes. The movies I have watched are:

Casanova= funny
Broakback mountain= dramatic
Fun with Dick and Jane=weird
March of the Penguins=beautiful and touching

Next will probably be Munich or the new one with Jennifer Aniston, can't remember the name of it.

The Winter Vomit disease

It doesn't sound very nice, does it? It's the name of a plague, traveling around in Sweden right now, and every winter. If you get it, all you can do for like three days is to vomit. And the worst part is that it is extremely contagious. If you get it, you'll be contagious three days after you get better. Lots of kindergartens has had it and they even had to close the hospital two times because of it.

So why am I telling you this? Because it has reached the tv-station where I'm doind my internship right now. One had it this weekend, she was back on Tuesday and Wednesday a photographer got it. So now everybody is walking around, waiting to catch it themselves... Not very nice... But so far nothing... :)

One more gold today! Curling ladies! Hurra hurra for us! :)

More olympics...

2-1, Sweden vs. USA. Mens hockey Sunday. Womens hockey final yesterday= Sweden vs. Canada 1-4. But we're still happy! Right now Swedens mens hockey team are playing Slovakia, 0-1.

On another note: We just had the annual meeting for our dance club and I was elected into the administration. I am now responsible for the competitions, to make sure that everybody is applied to the competitions. Funnily enough, I'm not even competing! But I am responsible, so I will probably be good at it... :)

After two days on the tv-station, I have not changed my mind about writing. I still think I want to become a writing journalist...

USA vs. Sweden

Exciting! Second period over. 1-1. Of course I'm cheering for Sweden, but I won't be THAT sad if USA wins either... :)

I forgot...

to tell you who Annelie is. She's one of my oldes "girlfriends" and Lars is her boyfriend. Annelie is in this picture. She's the one on the furthest right in the back row. She and Lars became a couple almost excactly one month after me and Snutte. They are a really cute couple, but of course not as cute as us... ;)

A cold...

Yes, after two months without deceases, a cold has hit me. Not that bad, no fever or anything. But as ususal my throat hurts and my nose is clogged up. Oh well... If it doesn't get worse than this, I'll be fine. Just too bad because we of course has the whole weekend planned, as usual.

Tonight: Me, Annelie, Mattias and Lars are going to watch Broakback mountain.
Tomorrow: The market in Burträsk and then Mattias' job has a party in the evening. Dinner and dancing.
Sunday: I have to do some school work and then dinner at mom and dad's in Brönstjärn.
Monday: I start my new intership at the local tv-station, Västerbottensnytt. Can't wait!
Today: I have the day off. Feels good to relax some...

Two Olympic gold!!

Finally! Two gold, and with half an hour inbetween or something. And women and men in the same dicsiplin. Short track skiing. Everybody smiles here... :)

46 more days

until we leave Sweden for Indiana. Can't wait!

But not only that, it as also Valentines Day today. Here in Sweden, the name is Alla hjärtans dag or, freely translated "All hearts day". It's not really that big of a deal here, but me and Snutte are going out to dinner tonight. Both because of Valentines Day and because we didn't get around to on our one year anniversary in December. So we'll combine the two today. Dinner at Tatung and then a movie: Fun with Dick and Jane.

My last day as a reporter at the news paper is here. Wednesday and Thursday I'll be editing and then I'm moving over to the local tv-station for five weeks. Have never been there before, it'll be interesting... :)

Finally Friday!

A least some time off! Even though we, as usual, have the whole weekend planned, it feels good to have some days free. And here is one thing I promised a while back, even though nobody probably have missed it: A picture of me and Snutte, dressed up as Aragorn and Arwen from Lord of the rings. Not really look-alikes, huh?

One cavity...

I forgot to tell you yesterday, yes, I had one cavity. Have to go back in three weeks...

Bored, stolen survey

I'm bored at work right now so I stole Ellen's survey, or at least part of it.
Here it is:

When Was The Last Time That You:

1 - Kissed Someone: This morning

2 - Were Intoxicated: News years eve

3 - Broke Down And Cried: I almost cried today at out three o'clock meeting when I found out that the dad to a former collegue (he died this summer) had died. But really cried... Can't remember.

4 - Had A Haircut/Had Your Hair Done: About three weeks ago. I'm saving it for the wedding. :)

5 - Hurt Someone's Feelings: Hard to say. The one thing i think about is when me and Mathias broke up, but that's over a year ago and I do not flatter myself by thinking I haven't hurt somebody since then.

6 - Felt Exceptionally Good About Yourself: These past few weeks here at the news paper has been a rollercoaster of good and bad feeling. But when somebody here tells me I have done something good, I feel really good about myself.

7 - Been Out Of The State You're Currently In: State? I'll say country and that would be Indiana in May.

8 - Laughed (I mean, REALLY laughed!): Every cooffe break here with the "editing team" is a "laugh fest" :D They are hilarious!

9 - Received A Hug: This morning

10 - Told Someone That You Loved Them: This morning (in a very sleepy state of mind, but still.)

Your Hopes And Dreams For The Future:

11 - What Would Your Dream Wedding Be Like?: A nice wedding with my family and friends. Not too big, not too small... :)

12 - Do You Want Children Someday?: Yes

13 - What Are Your Career Goals?: Become a journalist. Or an editor would also be fine! :) The money isn't all that important to me, but a nice salory never hurts.

14 - Where Do You Want To Live?: Somewhere around here would be fine

15 - What's Your Idea Of The Dream Life?: Enough money so I can have a decent life. Lots of good times with my friends and family.

TO BE CONTINUED....

Today: the dentist

Every other year. It's time. Going to the dentist. I'm not really that bothered, but I would of course rather not go. But, I have to. One hour to go...

Today's swedish lesson: Dentist= tandläkare (tand= tooth, läkare= doctor) Logical, huh?

08 februari 2006

All the Friends

It's official. We now have all the Friends-seasons. Snutte bought the last two, 7 and 9, yesterday because they had a speciall offer at Ica Maxi. We started watching season 7 last night. I miss the Friends!

No Arvingarna...

Do you remember Arvingarna? The group I was supposed to meet last Friday? I didn't get to. Those darn guys decided to arrive later to Skellefteå, so the night reporter got to meet them instead. He's 60 and I really thought that was a waist. But when I arrived yesterday to work, Arvingarna's last album, signed, was on my desk. Thanks for that, Calle! He was off yesterday, but today I'll give him a hug. :) I'm listening to them right now.

I started editing yesterday. Snutte started his new job yesterday. When we finally met, at eight last night, we were both smiling big. I love editing, he loves his new job. This will be a good week! :)

Erika left yesterday. Today she's in Miami.

Earlier: I gave blood. I'm on my sixth year, still going strong.
Now: Lunch.
Later: Work

Pictures from Indiana

Here are som pictures from mine and Mattias' trip to Indiana in May. I know that you won't understand much since everything is in Swedish, but click on "Fotoalbum" and "Nästa" which mean Next and you'll probably understand what most the pictures are about. Here is the link:

Casanova!

What a wonderful movie! Funny and entertaining, just what I needed a Saturday night. And always remember: Hours spent looking at Heath Ledger is never waisted...

Today's quote: "Oh give me a man who is man enough to give himself just to the woman who is worth him. If that woman were me I would love him alone and forever."

Our new stove!

Look what we got this week! A new stove. Isn't it wonderful? :) I also thought I'd add some more pictures when I was at it.

This is "us girls" at our birthday party. Elin, Erika, Annelie, Emma, Josse, me and Irene. This fall will be the ten years anniversary of our friendship! Neat, huh? :) But since Erika is in Miami, we'll se what happends with the anniversary party...

This is a winter version of a barbacue. Sausages over open fire... Tea, Micke and Snutte made the picture, Jörgen, Josse and I didn't. Neither did the dogs. Isa is Micke and Josse's dog and Jörgen and Tea's dog is named Ronja.

Snowy and windy

Today it feels like winter. It's cold, snowy and windy outside and I can not for the life of me remember why I complained when it was warmer...

Last day as a reporter. Monday I start editing. But first a weekend off. Sadly, Snutte works. All weekend and then Monday he starts his new job. So it will be a tough week for him, but I'm sure he'll make it. I'm going to enjoy my weekend off.

By the way, Erika still hasn't left Sweden. She got her passport too late and had to rescedule her ticket for Monday. So now she stays with our aunt in Stockholm and can't wait for Monday to come.

I love being a journalist!

And you know why? Even though the stuff we write is used for wrapping plates and cleaning fish (news papers are really useable), at the same time everything is saved for eternity. It's stored in big archives and houndreds of years from now (hopefully) people can find my articles and maybe use them for a piece of history, like I'm doing today. I love that! I makes me feel useful... :)

Olof Palme dead

20 years ago, our primary minister Olof Palme was shot. Or not exactly 20 years ago but almost. And they put me, who hardly lived back then, to do an article about it. I have spent my day in the archives, looking at old news papers and pictures and I love it! There's just so much history gathered down there! I think I have to come back on a day off and look for some family history... Instead of looking at old tomb stones like Ellen does... Even though that sounds really exciting too!
