Finally Friday?

Last night, Snutte went out dancing. I couldn't go because of my stupid neck which, by the way, apparently is caused by a virus! A virus! "Like a cold virus", said my chiropractor yesterday. A cold?!? In my neck?... What is the world coming to?
Anyway, I took a long bath, tried to relax and watch Maverick on TV. I also ate som popcorn. That was my exciting evening. Can't wait for my neck to heal now!!!

No pain, no gain

That's the way I see it now! This will only make me a better person. How, I have not figured out yet.

Yesterday we went home to Brönstjärn for a short visit. We had to get my summer tires because Snutte has promised to change both that and some other stuff on my car this weekend. It is decided by law here that we have to have winter tires between November 1st and April 30th. I'm not completely sure about the dates, but something like that. So it's time for Montoya to get his summer clothes on!

Today: More school work
Tonight: I'm starting to sew my cloak for the lajv this summer. Have I told you about the lajv? It's like a "living theater" without the audience. For a whole weekend, 100 people will pretend they live in another time and act like it. Since I'm not that good of an actor, I'm only helping though. I'm tending the inn in the village. My friend Tea has madea wonderful dress for me to wear, but I promised to help with the cloak. Pictures will come later.

Spring!!!

Almost no snow left, just piles here and there. Warm, sunny weather. I think spring is here! It should be because Sunday, April 30th, we're celebrating Walpurgis Eve (I think that's the English word, have to look it up when I get home). That's when we light big bon fires and celebrate the spring's arrival. So spring better be here by then!

Now to the sad news: I'm not allowed to dance. My chiropractor forbid me until my neck heales. And of course there is a special dance weekend this weekend, a marathon. Dance between 8 pm and 2 am Friday and Saturday, doesn't that sound like a perfect weekend? But not for me... I get the final decision on Friday when I go back to Martin. So cross your fingers for me!

No work today

Nope. When we were on our way to the grocery store this morning, I bent down to tie my shoes. My back popped... So no work today. I'm just kind of laying around the apartement, feeling sorry for myself... :(
And Mattias has a mean cold, so he also feels sorry for himself. We argued for a while who was worse, and then I called my mom and she unanimously decided she felt sorriest for me. Mattias hasn't called his mom yet. She might rule against me, but not for sure. She likes me! :)

Home early

I was supposed to work until nine thirty today, but after a decision by me and my two co-workers, we decided that I should go home six fortyfive instead. Both beacuse of my hurting neck and because there were so few people today. And I can totaly see why, the weather has been lovely here today! Clear blue sky and up to ten degrees (fifty). So people probably wanted to spend the day outside instead.

Snutte and Josse came fifth in the contest! Congratulations to them. They got a trophy and one point and now only need two more to compete in a higher class. I'm happy for them but not sorry I couldn't go. My neck causes me to lose my patient quick, and I know how loud it can be in a bus on the way home from a contest!

M&M? No M&M!

I figured that some of you might wonder about the M&M comment in my last post. Well, you see, we don't have M&M's in Sweden. So every time we come over we kind of stock up. Mattias "only" bought six pounds of M&M Peanut, two three-pound bags. But brother David must have bought atleast fifteen pounds or so. He really really likes them... He actually had a suitcase full of candy and different kinds of food that we don't have here. I only bought some Mac&Cheese and blue popcorn. :)

Any spelling errors in this one? I think not!

I can't belive it!

Do you see that?? Even in my apology I have a spelling mistake! I am actually going to leave it in there so you all can see how low I have sunken...

Now, I'm going to finish my bowl on M&M's (peanut of course, the best kind) and go to sleep. I can not take this any more...

Pain!

That's the only way to describe my life right now. My neck is hurting and it keeps moving to my head too. Before I went to the chirapractor yesterday I was fine! I mean pain in a shoulder and arm is bearable but not neck and head AND shoulder and arm. I just hope he can fix me on Monday, or else...

But of course, stubborn as I am, am I still working. I took an extra shift Thursday night, worked tonight and still have Saturday and Sunday left to work. I feel kind of bad since I'm letting my colleagues do all the heavy lifts, but I do not want to risk being paralyzed or something. They kept telling me it's ok, but I still feel bad.

Mattias and the rest of the dans club is at a contest this weekend. I couldn't go because I have to work. So let's cross our fingers for them, ok?

And finally I wat to apologize for the spelling mistakes I wrote yesterday. Hopefully nobody had time to see them before I corrected it, it really burned in my journalist-heart when I saw it. Of course I blame my neck, what else could cause me to write four mistakes in one short blogposting? Terrible, terrible...

Handicapped

That's how I feel now. Have you ever tried to wear a nack collar? Not a soft nice one but the kind you wear when you have a neck injury? Well, I am now! I have some problems with my spine, that's why my neck and one arm has been hurting. And my chiropractor couldn't fix it because of the pain and the inflamation, so now I have to wear this stupid thing until Monday... The only positive thing is that it's not white but ugly multi-colored, so people might think I'm wearing an ugly scarf. :)

Another day...

... has passed. It is crazy how fast everything fun goes. I had planned and longed for the trip for a whole year, and all of a sudden it's over and I'm back to every day life again. But a wonderful everyday life with my fiancé (I love saying that!)

I picked up our engraved rings today. Mine says: Mattias 1 april 2006 SK945 and his says: Hanna 1 april 2006 Sk945. In case anybody wonders is SK945 the flight number. :) It feels more real now, when we have our "real" rings and I have actually seen our engagement ad.

I should write a chapter in my thesis now, that is of course my I'm here, blogging and talking to my sister on MSN. But soon...

A wonderful trip and an engagement.

Finally home again. It has been a wonderful, wonderful trip but it felt long in the end. We left Washington Sunday morning and didn't walk trough our door until Monday evening.

But we had a wonderful time. The wedding was certainly an experience. I still can't believe that Mandy is married and that I was the main of honor. It feels unreal... :)

We also got engaged on the plane on the way over. I'm attaching some pictures of that blessed event. :)

Of course there are 1000 things I would like to tell you about, but honestly, I'm just too tired! I have however a link to a lot of the pictures I have uploaded for our family and friends at home. I realise that everything is in Swedish, but with this easy Swedish lesson, I'm sure you can look at them.

Our rings. Yes, we both have engagement rings and no, mine does not have any diamonds. I will have diamonds in my wedding ring, and then Mattias won't get any. That's the way it works here... :)
