Change of plans...

There has been a slight change of plans for our trip. We're leaving today! The airline, SAS, had overbooked our plane and offered us to leave earlier. As a compensation, they are paying for our hotel in Stockholm, since we have to fly down there today, but won't fly to Chicago until tomorrow. They are also letting us fly business class (=luxury). Can't wait!!! :)

The worst part was that I had planned to pack and do laundry all day today. But I will make it in time, have our bags packed before 6 pm tonight. Be sure!

My bachelors essay

We started yesterday, Per and me. And it feels really good. We have already done some, while we were on our internships. But maybe I won't feel this good in the end of May. Time has an ability to go too fast when you're having fun and when you need more time... :)

Today

We're going to Piteå, were Snutte is from. We have to say Hi and Goodbye to his family. He also have a bunch of friends up there we have to visit every time we go up. So it will be a hectic but very nice day.

The birthday party yesterday was really fun. I only stayed until 11.30 but almost had the time to talk to everybody I wanted. And the "CageSwamp Gringos" were there and played for like an hour. That's two guys I actually played mucis with once in my life but now they play stuff like "Mustang Sally", "Johnny B Good" and other songs you really want to sing along with! :)

Yesterday

Yesterday we were supposed to go dancing, but I didn't at all feel well and since the funeral is pretty early, we stayed home and watched a movie with Jörgen and Tea instead. "Smokey and the bandits". Seen it? I have too, but this time I fell asleep, three times! Not (only) because it's boring but because I have been sick for two days and that makes me really, really tired.

One wedding and a funeral

That could be the title of the movie of my life right now. In two weeks I'm attending a wedding as the maid of honor (yes, I am very proud of that!) and tomorrow we're attending a funeral. Snutte's uncle's wife died two weeks ago. It was not unexpected but still very sad. She had been sick for a couple of years and she was suffering, so it was probably for the best.
Tomorrow we're dressing in black.

Hockey!

A lot in this town is about hockey right now. Skellefteå AIK, our team, is trying to get into the highest league. They have like five games left and right now it looks pretty good. But, on the other hand, it has looked good for the past three or four years too, but they always fall right before the finish line. But this year!!! Maybe... :)

Anyway, as an intern I have been namned the hockey reporter. So for two days I have interviewed player and coaches. They are all very nice and easy to talk to, but it there a smell in the whole world that is worse than swetty hockey guys? I think not!!! Good thing they were clean and on their way to the airport last time, today we filmed their practise... Good thing you can't smell sweat throught the tv, we would scar off all the viewers... :)

Eleven more days...

until we leave our home country. To travel to another part of the world. What to bring? What to leave behind? The questions are piling up...

Snutte rules!!!

He won!!! Or I mean, they won! Snutte and his partner Josefin, which by the way is one of my best friends. I am so proud of them! And of course, since I was the teams captains yesterday, I take ful responsibility for one first, three second and two third places! :)

Erika said in a comment that since she's blond now and I'm curly, we might even pass for twins. That would be a first!!! :)

My Snutte!

He passed all the test for his drivers licence for bus today!!! He's the best!
He is now allowed to drive everything except taxi and motorcycle. :)


My weekend, booked as usual:

Tonight: Work at the movie theater
Tomorrow: Dance contest in Örnsköldsvik, about two hours away. We leave at 7.30 am tomorrow. I'm not compeating, Snutte is. But I am the team captain... :)
Sunday: Work again

And then Monday my last internship week begins. And after that, one more week of school and then: USA! :)
Two more weeks...

Picture time!

Since my hair actually is curly but I always blow dry it straight, the Rolles used to wonder what it would look like curly. So here it is!
I went to get a hair cut today and the woman who cut my hair asked me if I wanted it straight or curly and I thought, "Oh well, I'll comb it out if it turns out awful". So here it is. Now take a good look, this might be the first and last time you see it... :) Actually, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...

Tv or radio?

That is the question. Monday-Thursday this week I'm doing a short internship at the radio station which is in the same corridor as the tv-station. And I have to say, even after just one day, that radio is so much easier! You don't have to think about images, and a photographer, and an editor, you can do it all yourself. So much easier! So now I'm considering becoming a writing journalist with radio as my second choice...

My friend Sara stopped by today. She's pregnant. Baby's delivery date= July 22nd. And it's beginning to show! She looked happy, healthy and cute witht that extra belly... :)

Home for two days... :(

This is my second day home. The reason is my eye. I went to the optician Tuesday to check my sight and get new contact lenses and then she told me I had little wounds on my left eye, so I had to wear glasses for a week. I took the lenses out Tuesday night and when I woke up Wednesday, my eye hurt!!! And I didn't feel like spending a whole day infront of the computer, which I mostly do at the tv-station. So I stayed home yesterday, slept and listened to Bilbo on a "talking book" through my new MP3- player.

It feels a little better today, but I'm still home. I'll probably go back tomorrow. And I do not have time to be ill this weekend, it is of course planned as usual. But more about that later...

Only 23 more days now!!! Have to start planning my packing soon... :)

Another week gone...

Friday. Again. Where does the weeks go?
I have had a nice week. I actually got to do some real work at the tv-station and tonight we went out to eat at O'Learys and then bowling. That's how we celebrate birthdays. David had his Tuesday, remember?

I am just so tired! Internships are hard! You always want to show everybody how good you are and that is tireing. And of course, the weekend is booked, as usual.

Saturday= Piteå, visiting Mattias' friends and family. His brother's birthday is today.
Saturday evening: Wine, cheese, crackers and Friends on Play Station 2. Then out to a club with Irene, Elin and Emma.
Sunday= Actually a little calmer. Laundry and school work.

Then Monday again...

by the way

I forgot to say that my brother, David, had his birthday yesterday. Ot not really since he's born February 29th. But since that only happends every four years, we usually celebrate him the 28th. This year, however, the big celebration won't be until Friday. Then we're going out to dinner and bowling, the entire family minus Erika in Miami.

Second week

here at the tv-station. Right now it's really really calm. All the reporters are gone, so it's only me, the intern, and two photographers here today. I have not done much. Read some news papers, written som telegrams and planned for tomorrow. A long slow day...

Tomorrow I'm going to go ice skating for the first time in like five years. That will surely be exciting!
